Reagan Charles Feldhaus was born September 14, 2007 at 5:23 pm. He was 5 pounds 5 ounces and 18.25 inches long. Since he came at 37 weeks it was quite a surprise.
As most of you know, that wasn't our first surprise. The first one came back in February when we found out we were having another baby. This was a great pregnancy, but different from the first two. First since I was over the magic age of 40 we decided to do genetic testing. That was nerve racking for the first few months but everything was fine. In my third trimester we found out that Reagan was a footling breech which means his feet were down and head up. This meant trying to flip him so we could still deliver naturally with our midwife at our birthcenter.
At 36 weeks and 6 days we went to the hospital and tried a version which means they physically try to rotate the baby. When this failed we had to find a new doctor who could do a c-section at the hospital.
The next day at 37 weeks I went to meet a new doctor to schedule the c-section for close to 40 weeks. While there, I was in labor. Into the hospital I go to monitor progress and 3 hours later I had the c-section.
We are all doing great and want to share our pictures!!
